Against the background of the HORIZON Europe project WIMBY the seminar analyses the regulatory framework for Wind Power deployment across the EU (and as a benchmark possibly in other countries worldwide). The focus here will be on minimum distances to residential areas, exclusion zones and financial compensation schemes. Following the Tenets of Transitional Justice, together we will develop a project deployment strategy for a pilot project on Pantelleria.

This seminar focuses on practical analysis of various Financial Participation and Compensation Shemes in the realm of the Energy Transition across Europe. It furthermore addresses broader conceptual questions related to profit distribution in the wind energy sector: What conflicting interests are attached to wind usage (e.g. reducing CO2-emissions VS protecting the local landscape)? How can we balance competing interests in the wind energy sector; what role can FPCS play here?
