The course will provide a survey through several topics of cultural policy making, its implementation, social, cultural values and particular importance of research practices that concerns that relatively new field of study. Cultural policy covers many organizational settings, from EU institutions, national and local governments and councils, cultural public institutions (cultural centers, theatres, museums, orchestras, film institutes, etc.) to non-governmental players, from cultural industries and creative sector covered with copyrights and intellectual property, to artistic groups, coalitions, clusters, lobbies and finally individual creators, art entrepreneurs and managers in cultural sectors. The seminary will give both theoretical and practical insights with an essence of teamwork research exercise and discussions on a current cultural policy themes. The social, cultural, economical, legislative, ethnic, demographic, educational and political environment and conditions of such organizations and players are very dynamic around the world. This is the reason for studying the diverse conditions, aims and strategies, change processes of these organisms. Their performances and multiple influence on its employees, clients, local societies and international cooperators construct the basic field of cultural policy practice and research. The practical, exercise content of the seminar will deal with a cross-border Słubfurt (Słubice- Frankfurt) cultural public sphere.
