Englisch C1 Wissenschaftskommunikation - Wiwi - MWK Working with academic and business texts, video and audio files, this course focuses on improving effective verbal communication for use in the academic, as well as international business environment. Various speaking and presentation exercises strengthen the student's abilities in concisely and persuasively presenting concepts and information. The course grade is comprised of two presentations, assignments in and outside of class and "continuous assessment." Students must attend 75% of the course meetings and complete all assignments including an in-class course test at the end of the semester. The in-class test must be passed to complete the course. This is a graded course.

Englisch C1 Wissenschaftskommunikation - Wiwi INTENSIVE - SWK Working with and toward reading and producing academic texts for use in the academic and professional worlds. Taking a "writing process" approach toward improving writing skills, students learn and practice writing a variety of types of written texts including: reports, email, CV, persuasive texts, cover letters and make one presentation. Course grade is comprised of 4, equally-weighted parts: best summary, best persuasive essay, in-class test, and a continuous assessment/participation grade comprised of various assignments in and outside of class. Students must attend 75% of the course meetings and must complete all assignments including an in-class course test at the end of the course, and must pass the in-class test to passs the course. The course is graded with possible grades between 1,0 and 5,0.
